I'm a writer, journalist and producer. I used to be a magazine editor and have had the privilege of helming two publications: Time Out London and The List. I've also spent time as a film critic and a travel writer and have regularly appeared on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Scotland as a cultural commentator, including four times on Radio 4's Saturday Review.
Recently I've moved into developing documentaries for TV, film and radio. I've just had my first documentary commissioned for BBC Radio 4, which is due to air in 2022. You can find out more about my TV work on Talent Manager.
More than anything I love story-telling and feel incredibly lucky to have been able to make this my job.
Below you can see some examples of my writing.

A long read about the phenomenon of homesickness. Over six chapters I explore why leaving home is often far more complex than we think it is, taking in troops suffering from nostalgia in the 18th century to astronauts homesick for planet earth to homesickness in refugee camps.
